Vegas Event Photography efforts alive

Well, we have put a whole lot of work into finding out more about SEO and meta tag placements etc. over the last few weeks, and it apparently has paid off as far as Google is concerned. At least they have indexed the site (http://www.vegaseventphotography.com)as of a couple days ago. Replacing and changing key words and key word phrases was a big part of it. Or was it? Perhaps my last rant here on Blogger (Bless you Blogger) helped in getting the site noticed. The Google Gods are all powerful and do not like people ranting about them.
But like I said, now Google has found me. My ranking is still bad, so the next step is to get some worthwhile links in place. If you have a business in the Las Vegas area, or anywhere for that matter, get hold of me at larry@vegaseventphotography.com and tell me about yourself. Exchanging links is a plus when it comes to rankings.
Now my focus is on Yahoo. I am not at all happy with the fact they have not indexed the site yet, considering it is a Yahoo Web Builder built site! Hurry up and crawl us Yahoo spiders. We have work to do.
Once we are completely up and more jobs come our way, we will be blogging about those events photographed and the adventures therein. Should be fun.
This SEO web work crap is not! But I have to do it myself. I refuse to pay other people to get something done, when I know I can do it myself.
Check out the newest site http://vegaseventphotography.com and let me know what you think. I am trying collages as a way to show a portfolio and I really like the way it looks.

Another day

Well it was another day of fighting the Google Gods in order to have them index my sites, bless me with their acceptance and get on with advertising for new business. That battle was not yet won, but I will fight on.
In the past it wasn't that hard to get a site found on the internet, but then King Google was not always so rich and powerful. Nowadays you need a porn site instead of a regular G-rated photography site to get noticed quickly That guy who posted naked pictures of a cute sports reporter ... got thousands of hits right away. Of course, I don't think that is the way to go.
So, I'll just keep on trying to create the correct meta tags and pray.
But, with that said, it has been a good day in this photographer's life, because my friend Dale Dombrowski's article and photos were published in Birds and Bloom today, and I got a photo credit for a photo of him that they used for the article.
I also received news in the mail that one of the cactus photos I submitted to the Springs Preserve latest photo contest was accepted as a finalist! It will hang in their Big Springs Theater Gallery from August 8th through Oct. 11. They take their contests seriously, so I am proud.
Index that! Google.

Vegas Event Photography.com site up

After months of trial and error, error, and more error ... I have kept my GoDaddy hosted websites, but moved on and invested in a Yahoo hosted site created this week and named Vegas Event Photography (.com)!
Disappointed with GoDaddy's lack of "real" help when contacted, I have finally realized that it is their "Website Tonight" site building software that fails the SEO tests.
At least with Yahoo, there are plenty of easy ways to insert meta tags and HTML. The Site Builder in Yahoo is very easy to use.
So with that said, I unveil my newest creation....http://www.vegaseventphotography.com
Check it out and please give me some feedback. I am not a computer geek in any shape or form, so each day is a self-taught home schoolin' for me.
I'm also not one to turn down help, so if you know of great tips to help list, and advertise (FREE of course) new sites, let me know.
At least this site so far could be "verified" by Google. The next few days will be spent trying to optimize the search engine language and submissions.
